History
The Goodison family has been involved in the insurance industry in Brampton since 1956, when Jack Goodison purchased shares in McLeod Insurance Agency. In 1961, Jack branched out on his own, selling his shares in McLeod's and starting Jack Goodison Insurance and Financial Services Limited.
Since then, Goodison Insurance and Financial Services Limited has expanded by purchasing five brokerages, to become the largest, (single) family owned brokerage in Brampton. One of the purchases was the original McLeod Insurance Agency, which originated in 1937. Our roots are deeply planted in the Brampton community for more than 70 years.
What is in a name?
Jack Kirkwood, Norman McLeod, Wally Marks, Cor Bonsma and Jack Goodison
Dating back to the 1930’s these men provided much needed peace of mind to the people of Brampton and to “Peel County”. They started their businesses with a quality of service to their customers and to their community. This is the very cornerstone of what Goodison Insurance and Financial Services Limited is about today. We are proud to carry on their tradition and are thankful to them for their legacy.

Being Brampton’s oldest and largest family owned insurance brokerage is important to us. We treat our employees as we do clients: a part of our extended family. They are the most important resource of Goodison Insurance and Financial Services Limited. As a result Goodison Insurance and Financial Services Limited, received from Brampton Board of Trades and the City of Brampton the prestigious award:

Serving the Greater Toronto Area with professionalism and dedication has proven to be successful for the individual owners of the company. This is reflected in the numerous awards and achievements they have obtained throughout the years. These awards include, but are not limited to:

Scott Goodison receiving the 2006 Brampton Business Person of the Year Award.
These awards have been received with a great deal of humility. Our predecessors taught us well.
Our Community:
Goodison Insurance and Financial Services Limited and its predecessor companies have been in downtown Brampton for over 70 years. We are proud of our heritage and excited about the future. Being in downtown Brampton has been a big part of our success. To show our commitment to Brampton we recently completed two major initiatives: The exterior transformation of our building and the establishment of our Endowment Fund (within the Brampton Community Foundation)
